Fall is in full color already. It’s my favorite season, and everything looks beautiful here in Vancouver. I just wish it rained a little less so we could enjoy the outdoors more often.

Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:

Travel

We just came back from what was easily the best vacation we’ve ever had. There were a few small hiccups, but nothing that took away from how amazing it was. We went on a 10-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania and then spent three days in Zanzibar to relax and slow down a bit after the long days on the road. It was unforgettable. I am also sharing the photos in my my Nature Instagram page.

Self-Improvement

I’ve been mostly listening to podcasts and reading a little. The podcasts are still the same ones from my most listened list in 2024. They continue to be great company during my walks or while cooking.

Health

I’ve slowed down a bit over the past few months. Things were going well until around July, but then I lost some rhythm. I’m still going to the gym and running on Mondays, but my diet hasn’t been the best lately. I’ll get back on track soon.

Reading

I decided to take a break from business and self-improvement books and dive into some travel and adventure stories instead. I finished Into Thin Air and now I’m reading Endurance. Both have been great reminders of how much I enjoy real-life adventure stories.

Hobbies

The garden season is wrapping up. I’m still picking a few herbs and tomatoes here and there, but it’s mostly done for the year. It’s always rewarding to see how much comes out of that little space.

I’ve also spent a lot of time working on a small book about my parents’ life. They’re celebrating 39 years of marriage, and I wanted to record their story in a simple, heartfelt way. The book is almost finished, and I’m really proud of how it’s turning out.

Another big hobby lately has been editing the photos from our safari trip. I’m uploading them to Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, and Alamy, which takes a surprising amount of time with all the tagging and descriptions. But I enjoy reliving each moment as I go through the photos.

Professional

I haven’t been writing much about work recently. Things have been busy, but not with topics that make for interesting blog posts. I’ve been experimenting with AI tools and exploring how they can help at work, but nothing ready to share just yet.

That’s all for now. See you soon!

Cheers,
João
